Community RePaint Thirsk

We are delighted to announce that Clock Works Community Re-Use Store has joined the national Community RePaint scheme and is now supplying re-usable paint as ‘Community RePaint Thirsk’.

Community RePaint is a UK wide paint reuse network, sponsored by Dulux, that aims to collect leftover paint and redistribute it to benefit individuals, families, communities and charities in need. Each year an estimated 50 million litres of the paint sold in the UK goes to waste. This paint is either thrown away or stored in homes or garages despite over 50% of it still being usable. Currently the network is made up of 70 schemes and redistributes over 330,000 litres of paint each year.

Paint from the scheme has helped local groups and charities refresh shared spaces and create colourful murals for the community; enabled people on low income to redecorate their homes at low cost; and provided employment, training and volunteering opportunities building valuable skills and experience.

Community Re-Paint Thirsk is now in Store. If you need paint for your project at home or in the community, please come and see what we have to offer. We source full and part-used containers of paint from tradespeople, retailers and manufacturers that is surplus to their requirements, and sell or donate them back to those in our community who have a need for it.

If you are a tradesperson or business who has surplus paint to offer us, please call the Store or email clockworks@theclock.org and we will arrange to collect it from you.
