Community Workshop

We aim for our Community Workshop to be a base where people can come together to connect, converse and create. Our Workshop sessions will provide space, materials and equipment for people to repair or refurbish donated items such as furniture and bicycles.

We have a number of projects now underway or in development to utilise our Workshop for specific groups in our Community:

Men’s Shed is held on Tuesday at 6pm-7:30pm and is aimed at men of working age and beyond. It creates a safe and supported space to promote positive mental health.

Young Men’s Shed is for 14-25 years olds and takes place on Tuesday at 1:30pm-3:30pm. This is also a supported session (led by an experienced Support Worker) who will facilitate the development of practical skills in an informal, welcoming and friendly setting.

Women’s Shed is currently being developed so please let us know if you’re interested in getting involved in a women’s only, volunteer-led group focussing on furniture refurbishnent and sharing craft skills for the home.

Over in the Bike Workshop we have tutor-led sessions teaching people basic bike repair and maintenance. This is an accredited course so participants can achieve a Level 1 qualification on completion. Please get in touch with us to register your interest for this course.

We are also developing some Bike Workshop Sessions that will be Volunteer-led, so those with a keen interest and basic-to-intermediate knowledge of bike repair and refurbishment can work on the bikes we have donated to us to make them fit for re-use. Following safety checks, these bikes will be offered for sale at low cost in our Re-Use Store.

Places are limited due to space restrictions but there is currently capacity in all of these groups sessions. Please get in touch with us for more information or to arrange to come along to one of them.
